Gaining the mental freedom to do what serves us well.
Everyone is welcome to join this workshop, no prior knowledge required!
We usually know very well what would be good for us — and yet we still don’t do it. We postpone, negotiate internally with ourselves, and allow ourselves to be pulled in directions that do not serve us in the long run.
In this workshop we explore what is actually happening in the mind when we procrastinate. We examine the inner forces that draw us toward what feels pleasant, push us away from discomfort, or cause us to lose clarity about our deeper direction.
Through reflection and meditation, we learn to recognize these patterns, to name them clearly, and to create some distance from them. When we understand that the resistance is not “who we are” but merely temporary mental states, a new kind of inner freedom begins to emerge – the freedom to see clearly, choose consciously, and take small, steady steps in the direction we know to be right.
About the Teacher
Kadam Tim Larcombe is the Resident Teacher of our sister center KMC Copenhagen in Denmark and brings with him some 23 years of meditation experience.
His own inner journey on the Buddhist path began in 2002 when he encountered Kadampa Buddhism by chance in New York City while living in the US for several years and then joined the Sangha community of our sister center KMC NYC. Deeply touched by the books and oral instructions of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, Kadam Tim soon joined our tradition's Teacher Training Program there. In 2005, Venerable Geshe-la asked him to establish a Kadampa Meditation Center in Copenhagen, where he has since served the community in various roles, currently as Resident Teacher.
Kadam Tim is known and loved for his warm and approachable nature, as well as his ability to share Buddha's teachings and meditation techniques with clarity and practicality. This ability comes not least from many years of personal experience of meditation practice in the context of partnership, family life and a demanding career in technology, product design and innovation - he knows first-hand that meditation is a reliable tool for all situations in life and is passionate about teaching everyone from all walks of life how to use meditation skillfully to live life with inner peace and experience more happiness and contentment - let yourself be inspired!
