Kadam Mirja Renner has been practicing Kadampa Buddhism since 2005. She began her meditation and Dharma studies in London, England, at Heruka Kadampa Meditation Center. In 2007, she moved to New York City and entered the Teacher Training Program at Kadampa Meditation Center NYC. Over the years and alongside a demanding career in the media industry, she contributed to the running of KMC NYC in in various ways and roles, from running center operations as Admin Director of the non-profit, to teaching general program classes and finally the Foundation Program from 2015 to 2019. Kadam Miri has been the Resident Teacher in Hamburg since the summer of 2019. Drawing on her many years of experience with a meditation practice fully integrated into a super busy everyday life, she presents the Buddhist teachings in a very practical and accessible way.

OTHER TEACHERS

Laura Huerfarno first encountered the Dharma at the Kadampa Meditation Center Colombia in Bogotá in 2017. She immediately became an active member of the Sangha, volunteering and leading activities for children. In 2020 she moved to Germany and continued her engagement with our Center here in Hamburg. From 2022 to 2025, work took her to Cologne, where she contributed to the opening and running of KMC Köln as Education Program Coordinator and occasional General Program Teacher — offering classes in German, English, and Spanish. She moved back to Hamburg in 2026 and is now a valued part of the Hamburg Sangha once again.

“I came to the Dharma, as many do, when I was in pain, exhausted by the way my mind was experiencing difficulties. Through the example of beautiful and inspiring Buddhist practitioners and the priceless teachings, I found answers about our potential for love and compassion — answers that have transformed my understanding from the inside out and made me a more mindful person in all my relationships. It is a wonderful gift to be able to explore the richness of our inner world, and Kadampa Buddhism feels like the golden ticket to enter it and joyfully discover what lies within.”
